Having fun is a great concept and, despite appearances sometimes, one that I fully endorse.
However, I don’t think we should ever lose sight of the fact that our partner, the horse, should be enjoying the activity too.
A priority for all of us who love horses should be to ensure that the horse understands what is required of him. He needs to be educated enough to figure it out and he has to be fit enough to be able to accomplish the task we set for him.
All those things unleash the generosity of the horse and that to me is where to find the real fun and the true joy in this sport.
