The chain lead shank

Sometimes there are reasons that we have to use a little more restraint with horses. While these issues can usually be resolved with more training, in the mean time it is important to know the correct way to use a chain lead.

Over the years, I’ve seen people use these tools in ways that aren’t very safe and that’s what the video is about this week.

Thanks for stopping by.

  1. Hi Pat
I always saw those chain leads beside the ramp and I thought you clipped it in the same as a Cotten lead for like Vaccination day or something. I never thought you can use them so many different ways

    Thanks

    Hi Greta
You’ll notice those chain leads tend to get pretty dusty because we don’t use them on a daily basis.
    Thanks for watching!
    I appreciate it.
    Pat
