Happy Mother’s Day

Never give up on your dreams. Of all the lessons my mom taught me, that has to be one of the best.

While I think of her alot, it’s always a little more wistful on this day.

Happy Mother’s Day to you Pat… I hope you were honored and cherished. I speak with my momma everyday on the phone…it will break my heart when I can’t make that phone call anymore. Thank you for sharing such a precious story of your mom and her selflessness…explains why you are such a great lady yourself. Thank you for being so inspiring.

My Mom insisted that all 5 of her kids learn to ride horses! Mom’s are God’s gift to us kids…right?
    Love your posts!

    1. Thanks, Judith. Your mom had her hands full with all five of you I’ll bet! I’m glad she gave you horses in your life.

Thank you for your message Pat. Your mother shared with you a lesson that has stuck with you so strongly that it had to be shared in this space. If you have a dream in your heart, then you should follow it if at all possible. You’re right, that we should have no regrets. Returning to riding is something that has been gnawing at my heart and is impossible to ignore.
I hope to be able to “Thank my horse” after a lesson again soon.

Thank you for your thoughtful and thought provoking messages.

    1. I look forward to having you at the farm again, Karen. When I read your comments I get the sense of how much the horses mean to you. We are kindred spirits…:-)

What a wonderful message, Pat. I hope you enjoyed your Mother’s Day weekend as well. My mom passed away due to COVID this past January. Before that, she was living in a nursing home because she had dementia. So I’m not able to give my mom a hug anymore, but I will never forget so many lessons that she taught me. Like you, there were many things I didn’t fully appreciate about her until I was older and a mom myself. Thanks for sharing these Mother’s Day thoughts!

    1. Lori, I am so sorry. What a terrible beginning of the year for you. I hope your memories of her eventually ease your sense of loss. I think it must be so hard to have a parent with dementia. It must almost be like losing them twice. Thanks, Lori.

Oh Pat….now I’m all weepy. I miss my Mom so much. She passed shortly after your Mom. Lessons from Mom’s are precious but it sometimes takes a while for ‘kids’ to realize it!.

    Thank you!
