Every new experience you expose your horse to is an opportunity to gain his trust.
As best we can, we should try to see every new event through the horse’s filter. He sees the world differently that we do and remembering that can make some of his decisions make more sense.
Soaking a horse’s foot is an example of this. Done carefully and slowly, most horses won’t object to the process.
Great video, Pat. I wonder if you could speak to abbesses … how/why they form, how to know of your horse has one, why soak the hoof (can you include Epsom salts or something else), how long do they last, are they always in the hoof or can they be further up the leg? Thanks so much.
