Winter and horses

I often think that the only people who really love winter are the people who get to play in it rather than work in it.

I still probably believe that to be true on some level but I feel a little less strongly about it this year because it’s been wonderfully mild so far.

Okay, to be honest, I will probably revert in my opinion the next time the pipes freeze in the barn yet for now, it’s almost impossible not to appreciate the beauty and tranquility of a still and sunny winter day.

As long as we keep an eye on a few things, I think the horses love it too.

Thanks Pat. Good safety elements everyone should know when working around the barn and interacting with horses. Shade seemed to vocalize her agreement and certainly enjoyed her 5 minutes of fame!!

Excellent video Pat (and Shade), always learning something new about taking care of horses. Thank you!

And shovelling doors and exit escapes reminder (basement windows) from any barn/ home always important in case snow freezes which does happen often here in Canada!
