Two thoughts came to mind on your post today…
1. I had 7 horses on a much smaller area in Utah. I learned NEVER to open a gate that had horses gathered around it.. I would order them away from the gate, back out into the paddock so that I could open the gate safely and shut it. I would only bring out one at a time in a halter and lead rope. Horses will charge a gate in their excitement. Not good for any human.
2. As you bring a horse inside from the bright light, EXPECT a spook event. Just be ready for they absolutely cannot see what you see. Be patient and let them adjust.
